National Higher Education Carnival 2010 - Jom Masuk U Campaign



YEAR 2010 is the annual Outreach Programs by Ministry of  Higher Education (MOHE) that have been implemented since the year 2005 based on feedback positive received from counselors, educators, students, parents, public and other stake holders.


This program is implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Education (MOE). Starting in 2010 NHEC will be "signature program " for MOHE.



MOE has been using tagline "JOM SIGN U" to educate and motivate the applicant to obtain accurate and current information about higher education opportunities in Malaysia.

  • The objective of this program is to be a Stop Center (One Stop Center) informative to target groups such as the applicant, parents, teachers and local communities to obtain information about opportunities higher education accreditation and financing for the SPM / Equivalent and STPM or its equivalent;
  • This program would also like to educate and promote awareness among applicant and civil society on implementation of application admission to the IPTA through the Online Application;
  • Giving information about the implementation of selection policy Admission to the IPTA that use 90% of academic marks and 10% of  co-curricular marks;
  • Explain co-curricular marking methods based on school coordinated by the Ministry of Education (MOE) for application Admission to the IPTA; and
  • To promote and propagate information about the new program of study offered by IPTA and other institutions from the academic session 2010/2011.

TARGET GROUP
a) SPM / STPM / Diploma / Matriculation / STAM studying Students
  • SPM / STPM / STAM / Diploma and other holder
  • Guidance and Counseling School's Teachers, Counselor, teachers, parents and the local community.
b) Target attendance to educational exhibits 150, 000 and 200, 000 visitors.

ACTIVITIES ORGANIZED IN NHEC 2010 - 'JOM MASUK U'
· Lectures and interactive forums focused target groups by the IPTA, the Division / Agency MOHE / MOE such as Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Negara (PTPTN), Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), Matriculation Division Ministry of Education Malaysia (BMKPM), Department of Polytechnic (JPP), Department of Community Colleges (JPKK) and the Department of Higher Education (JPT);
  • Education Exhibition "JOM MASUK U"
  • Lucky Draw "JOM MASUK U" to visitors;
  • Prime Draw "JOM MASUK U" to visitors;
  • Distribution of Brochure programs offered by IPTA, IPTS,
Polytechnics, Community Colleges and various other agencies; and Services Guidance and Counseling

EDUCATION EXHIBITION
This program will be join by 20 IPTA, Division / Agency in MOHE such as Students Admission Management Division Department of Higher Education (BPKP JPT), Department of Polytechnic (JPP), Department of College Community (JPKK), Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Negara (PTPTN), Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), private institutions and Agency / Division under Ministry of Education (MOE) such as the School Division, Sports Division, Arts and Co-curriculum, Matriculation Division MOE,  Teacher Education Division (BPG) MOE, State Council of Teacher Guidance and Counseling (MGBK), Department of Human Resource Ministry of Human Resource (JTM), National Youth Skills Institute (IKBN) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports also other agencies and sponsors involved with higher education.

FORUM
Speakers who have expertise in accordance with certain areas will identified to be invited to give lectures. State Education Department, Colleges Matriculation / Foundation Studies in Science Center University of Malaya (PASUM), Asasi UiTM, polytechnics and community colleges will determine the list of Teachers Guidance and Counseling (GBK), including counselors GBK from the Office of  Education District (PPD), Senior Assistant Student Affairs (HEM) schools, Representative of Primary School Council of Guidance and Counseling Teacher and Representative of Parents Teachers Association (PTA) based on formulas set by BPKP Department of Higher Education.
